Human Resources Clerk

 

Role Mission:

The Human Resources (HR) clerk provides administrative support to IDEA Public Schools Human Resources Department by partnering with the Regional Human Resources Manager/Director to provide excellent customer service to all employees, respond to their questions/concerns via the HR Call Support Center (Zendesk) , assist with leave management, make referrals related to worker’s compensation, ADA, and unemployment claims, as well as, track and monitor HR data. The ideal candidate must be analytical, detail-oriented and must have great communication skills. Previous experience in HR or experience in other administrative tasks in an educational setting is preferred. The HR Clerk will report directly to the Director of HR Shared Services & Records.
 

Location: This is a full-time remote position based in Austin, Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin or who are willing to relocate.

 

What You’ll Do – Accountabilities

 

Essential Duties:

Monitor HR Shared Services Center (Zendesk) and ensure tickets are acknowledged within 12-hours and assign accordinglyDeliver “exemplary” customer service across regionsPrepare, process, and review a variety of documents, including leave management report (FMLA, UTO, PTO, etc.), verification of employment, service records and exit surveys for completeness, accuracy, and submission standardsMake referrals to workers’ compensation claims, ADA, and grievances as neededSchedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, and appointmentsCreate and maintain employee files and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive informationRespond to routine inquiries, distribute and explain forms to customers, or direct to appropriate resourcesMaintain and update HR personnel records, databases, and trackersPartner with other departments to develop sustainable and functional operating systems, ensure proper implementation of said systems, and provide support where neededMaintain records related to grievances and disciplinary actionsAssist with HR-related audits to ensure regulatory compliancePerform any other task or function as assigned by employer

 

What You Bring – Competencies

 

Required experience:

Education: High school diploma required, Associates or Bachelors preferred1+ year HR or related experience

 

 

Physical Requirements:

·          Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without being able to leave the work area.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $18.49/hour and $23.11/hour, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
