HR Business Coordinator
Networks Division – Nexstar Media Inc
The Human Resource Coordinator plans, directs, coordinates and is the liaise of one or more administrative services of the Networks division of Nexstar, a leader in the broadcasting industry. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director. This fast-paced position is based in New York City. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to join and support a diverse team of union and non-union employees in the broadcasting industry.
Responsibilities:
Maintain employee personnel/HR files Administer employment processes: onboarding/orientation, offboarding, benefits, leave benefits, employee verifications, personnel/data changes, accommodation requests and assistance with payroll itemsManage worker’s comp, auto insurance claims, safety plans and motor vehicle checksDirect or coordinate the supportive services of the business unitLiaise with Sr. Leadership and Corporate staffDiscreet nature with access to critical private information is necessaryEffective employee communication skillsOrganize and direct business unit employee eventsAssist management with effective and consistent performance managementAssist with employee relationsManage all employee contractsOther duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 3-5 years in Human Resources or Business Administrator is preferredInterpersonal savvy – relates well with all people, good listenerBuilds rapport and effective relationships and uses diplomacy and tact. Confidentiality is crucialApproachability – is easy to approach and talk to; is a good listenerAction Oriented – enjoys working hard, and is action orientedProblem solving & decision making – uses logic and methods to solve difficult problems, finds sources for input, makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgementPlanning/organizing – prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plansDeveloping self & others – confident and assertive when providing coaching, guidance or direction.
