Reports to:          Director of Human Resources

Status:                  Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Job Summary:

This position provides support to the HR Director in administrative duties, general office management and HR matters, being a liaison with department heads, and other stakeholders.

  

Essential Functions as HR Coordinator

In the role of Human Resources Coordinator, the incumbent will support the HR Director in carrying out the daily activities of the Human Resource office, to deliver HR services that meet or exceed the needs of team members and enable business success; as well as ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures. 

Areas of responsibility include employee on-boarding, recruitment, benefits administration, new hire Orientation and training:

Coordinates the hiring process, including background screens, reference checks, issuing job offers of employment and gathering all required legal documents from new associates.Help new associates navigate through the onboarding process, and ensure they are in the payroll system in a timely manner.Distributes Employee Handbook and onboarding materials to all new associates.Responds to inquiries from Associates regarding the organization’s processes, policies, procedures, and programs.Sets up hourly associates in the time clock and addresses timecard issues.Works with the HR Director with the administration and compliance of workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.Helps organize, plan and coordinate events for associates including ordering meals, having the necessary office supplies and materials for each event, communicates with vendors and internal departments.Collaborate with Director in developing Training programs keeping enrollment records, assessing needs, contacting external trainers, and facilitating trainings with department heads.Help organize career fairs and assist in recruitment efforts.Sends internal communications and prepares business communications, as neededMaintains personnel files, safeguards confidential records, and keeps associate files updated.Updates policies, SOP’s, position descriptions and other HR-related documentsCollaborate with Director of HR to build a positive work culturePosts job positions on applicable websites, coordinating with corporate officesKeeps Associates’ training records up to date and uploads training into the appropriate systemsAssists in completing employment verification forms, separation letters, and other documents required by labor agencies and associates.Coordinates parking with an external company; submits forms and distributes decals and stickers.Special projects and other duties, as assigned.

Education and Experience

Minimum High school diploma. Preferred college degree or coursework.Preferred 1 year experience in human resources or some college courses Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.

Ability to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of timeAbility to bend, twist, stoop, move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing 15 lbs. or more, without assistance.Ability to communicate clearly
