General Function
The HR Coordinator is an entry-level role within the Human Resources Department, responsible for administrative duties as well as tactical execution of established procedures.
This role is pivotal in assisting with benefits, leaves of absence (LOAs), and employee events. The individual in this position should be adept at following guidelines and procedures and should excel at customer service. While they will provide valuable input to management, the primary emphasis for this role is on implementation and support rather than providing strategic direction

Accountable and Reports to: Assistant Manager of Human Resources
Positions that Report to you: None
Primary Responsibilities:
+ Facilitate annual open enrollment meetings.
+ Guide employees through the benefits enrollment process.
+ Maintain comprehensive records for leave of absence and short-term disability, ensuring all related documentation is up to date.
+ Possess a foundational understanding of benefits offerings to address employee inquiries.
+ Adhere to standard operating procedures for benefits and leave administration.
+ Relay crucial information regarding benefits offerings, open enrollment, and related topics as directed.
+ Offer support in the organization and execution of employee events.
+ Document employee events in the “Events” Google sheet for future reference.
+ Communicate pertinent LOA details to both employees and management.
+ Collaborate with rest of the HR team to ensure consistent communication and processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
+ Proficiency in using computers and cell phones.
+ Familiarity with Hy-Vee’s elective benefits.
+ Demonstrated ability to follow directions efficiently and accurately.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ A minimum of 1 year of experience in an office environment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Strong organizational skills.
+ Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to ensure clarity and understanding when liaising with employees and management.
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be physically able to perform light work: exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, exerting 10 pounds of force frequently and exerting a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
+ Visual requirements include clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
+ Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are performed in an office setting. There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day. Travels in warehouse with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations and machinery.
Equipment Used to Perform Job:
Copier, PC with word processing and spreadsheet applications, special software programs for attendance and productivity, fax, 10-key calculator and telephone.
Confidentiality:
Has access to confidential information employee records, payroll, incentives, and disciplinary actions.

Contacts:
Has daily contact with general public, Federal/State Governmental or Regulatory Agencies by completing verification forms, employees, headquarters and local departments.
