Waste Connections is currently seeking an **on-site** HR Coordinator to join our Western Region Office located in Vancouver, Washington. This office supports 4000+ employees in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada and Idaho. As the HR Coordinator, you will be involved in the day to day administrative tasks within the HR department. **At Waste Connections, culture is a critical component of our success. Our managers in the field operate within a relatively decentralized structure but look to our regional administrative office for certain centralized services, including human resources.** **Essential Duties:** + Contribute to various Human Resources related projects and processes, working with the Central Region Human Resources team. + Assist in the administration and support of HR Programs and policies. + Pull, run, and manage reports. + Track and respond to HR-related inquiries from employees and managers. + Participate in addressing employee relations issues. + Assist with developing presentations as necessary in support of initiatives. + Assist the field to stay compliant with Driver Qualification Files. + Conduct exit interviews with departing employees. + Lead and/or participate in team projects. + Support other ad hoc projects within the department as needed and requested. + Point of contact for all leave of absence and workers comp issues in the region – working closely with the HR Manager(s) and HR Generalist. + Assist the HR team with acquisitions. **What You Have To Have:** + 2+ years in an HR role (or related experience). + Previous experience and proven success in an Administrative role. + Knowledge of US employment laws _preferred._ + Strong communication skills, verbal and written. + Ability to exercise initiative and work independently. + Ability to remain confidential with sensitive information. + Ability and skills to manage multiple projects and initiatives. + High School degree required.
