Portzen Construction, Inc. is located in Dubuque, Iowa. The Human Resources Director will organize and administer the recruitment and hiring of the company’s workforce. Responsibilities: + Conduct and collect information for new employee orientations. + Maintain employee personnel files. + Research and understand labor laws and make sure company is in compliance with all government reporting regulations. (Ex: EEO, ERISA, FLSA, etc) + File and maintain 401K documents. + Assist with payroll processing. + Manage and administer employee benefit programs. + Update Employee Handbook. + Understand Collective Bargaining Agreements. + Communicate with Union administrators and personnel. + Recruit new employees through job fairs, job postings, etc. + Other administrative duties as need. Qualifications: + Degree in Human Resource Management or related field. + Three to five years of relevant experience. + Experience with labor relations preferred, but not required. + Self-directed, organized, and self-motivated to accomplish goals. + Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills is a must. + Proactive and pragmatic thinker, is deliberate and decisive in making decisions. + Solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organization skills. + Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
