Responsibilities include advising the Civil Service Commission on HR issues, developing policies, providing Commission support, and ensuring high-level communication. The Director oversees all HR-related activities, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal regulations, supervises staff, and offers guidance on disciplinary actions. Additionally, the Human Resources Department directs recruitment activities, retention programs, administers civil service exams, manages resources for organizational studies, and advises on civil service rules, aiming to improve the city's HR system's efficiency and effectiveness.
