Job Title: Human Resource Generalist, Sr.

Reports to Job Title: Human Resources Manager 

 

Summary of the Position:

The Sr. HR Generalist provides a wide range of human resources support and guidance; plays a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and human resources best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between employees and management. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Educates, assists and coaches employees and managers on complex employee relations issues; conducts and documents investigations relating to workplace complaints; analyzes information to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and corrective actions. (20%)Recommends HR policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and compliance through day to day HR practice and observation. Ensures all company policies and procedures are up to date with current employment laws. (20%)Acts as liaison with Aramark and oversees uniform order process; reviews all uniform invoices for discrepancies and escalates any outstanding issues. (15%)Conducts exit interviews and identifies trends through turnover analysis. Conducts new hire orientation for ‘office’ employees to ensure smooth onboarding process. (10%)Responsible for maintaining the employee files with required information to ensure compliance with laws and regulations; maintains employee I-9 forms and is the company administrator for E-Verify. (10%)Assists with the performance evaluation process and any performance improvement plans; provides guidance and recommendations. (10%)Special projects and other duties as assigned. (10%)Works with outside legal counsel and partners with senior management in preparing/updating JBSS’s quarterly legal summary. (5%)

 

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years human resources experience.Bachelor’s degree in business administration/human resources or related field.At least one-year experience in a position of responsibility and accountability for employee relations and/or labor relations.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong client focus, communication and influencing skills; ability to collaborate and influence at all levels within the organization.Proven ability to work in a team-based environment.Strong ability to plan, prioritize, organize and manage workload.Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues without detailed instruction or procedural guidance.Strong knowledge of company philosophy, culture and goals.Strong understanding of applicable laws and regulations, company policies and practices.Effective computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.Bilingual; Spanish preferred, but not required.
