Job Summary
The HR Generalist will use HR expertise to drive change and improve business results using strong relationship-building and influencing skills. This position is responsible for people strategy implementation for the Grantsville, Utah facility located outside of Salt Lake City with an overall headcount of ~150 employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the day-to-day HR operations, including but not limited to employee onboarding, offboarding, record keeping, benefits administration, and employee relations. Coach, counsel, guide, and mentor internal clients on best practices related to attracting, engaging, and investing in employees through the employee lifecycle. Champion the implementation of strategic HR initiatives related to people development, talent management, staffing, retention, diversity, organizational development, and performance management for employees in the facility. Ensure the HR function's priorities and efforts are customer-centric and aligned to the execution of the operational strategy. Implement talent acquisition strategy, objectives and KPI’s for area of responsibility. Ensure development of a robust and sustainable talent pipeline for production, trades, technical and supervisory positions. Provide subject matter expertise and counsel leaders on change management. Provide coaching and consultation to operations management regarding communication and leadership style and its impact on departmental change efforts. Provide expertise, counsel and coaching support to department leaders and direct reports on annual processes and systems with goal of building management competencies within the local leadership team. Support HR activities related to managing union relationships to include contract negotiations, monthly meetings, grievance investigation and response, arbitration, and other labor relations functions. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for each location as well as company policies, procedures, and requirements.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree required. 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment required. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred. HR experience in a union environment preferred, including the negotiation, administration, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements. Knowledge of HR practices including talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, leadership development, employee relations, change management and organizational development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
