Human Resources Generalist

 

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager (HRM) in supporting the HR program, policies, and initiatives for the U.S. Liebherr companies and operating divisions.

Responsibilities Works closely with the HRM in drafting U.S. policies and procedures. Studies the impact of legislation and supports compliance with federal and state laws. Works closely with the visa requester, the HR team, and necessary parties to prepare visa packages for HRM to review. Audits visa listing for accuracy and monitors upcoming visa expirations for renewal. Ensures visa files are properly and consistently maintained. Assists with implementing and administering new and/or revised plans as well as open enrollment. Participates as a team member in employee communications, including mailings. Prepares new hire and termination packages. Assists with random drug testing. Monitors MVRs and assists with annual updates. Recruits for position openings in Saline and other U.S. divisions which LUS HR supports. Conducts new employee orientation and exit interviews. Acts with urgency to meet staffing needs of the facility. Conducts employee investigations and recommends action. Assists with responding to employee complaints and EEO claims. Participates in the compensation process and salary surveys. Assists HRM with developing compensation systems, salary ranges, and job descriptions. Maintains HR systems required for administrative reporting and communication purposes (i.e. Halogen, MySuccess, ADP, Sharepoint, etc.) and creates routine reports as necessary. Competencies

Education and Experience: A related bachelor's degree in human resources or related field with 2-4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SHRM-CP/PHR is preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff inside and outside of Liebherr.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive/confidential information.
Solid working knowledge of employment, benefits, immigration, OSHA law.
Proficient in MS Office; internet and intranet software; payroll systems; and HRIS systems.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and calculate figures and amounts.
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
Ability to problem solve and give recommendations for solutions.
Ability to work in potentially stressful situations and multitask as necessary. 
Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule required to support U.S. site locations and foreign affiliates.
