Included in the POWDR portfolio, is Stovepipe Wells located in Death Valley National Park, operated under a long-term concessions contract with the National Park Service.
Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go café, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening.
Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources department at Zion National Park Lodge. This position is responsible for a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training. The HR Generalist will assist the Human Resources Manager in fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring that HR policies and procedures align with organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing support and guidance on HR policies and procedures.
Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts while promoting a positive workplace culture.
Provide onsite support for processing payroll. Ensuring all time cards are signed off, paid time off, and absences are recorded.
Provide employees with information regarding their benefits and assist with enrollment and changes.
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of HR-related documentation and reports for audits.
Support the implementation of training programs and initiatives to enhance employee skills and development.
Track training completion and assist in evaluating training effectiveness.
Assist in the performance evaluation process, including setting timelines and providing necessary documentation.
Support management in addressing performance-related issues and conducting performance reviews.
Plan and organize staff activities and team-building events to enhance employee engagement and foster a sense of community.
Coordinate wellness programs and initiatives to promote employee well-being and work-life balance.
Encourage employee participation in company events and recognition programs to boost morale.
Maintain employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
Prepare HR reports and assist in analyzing HR metrics to support decision-making.

Work Location:
Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site and commuting from a residence in the local vicinity is acceptable.
Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.
Ability to lead human services requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.
Organizational system skills for records and document control.
Technical skills utilizing cloud-based databases, programs, such as HRIS, LMS, etc.
Establish successful working relationships with co-workers, Park Service and the public.
Use good professional judgment, honesty, and integrity in decision making.
Interact with the public and stakeholders in a professional manner and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lift 15 lbs. for various office supplies, equipment, arranging furniture for meetings, etc.
Minimum two years working in HR position, and hospitality preferred.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Bachelors in related field preferred.
