Kent is hiring a Site HR Generalist to support our Commissioning, Completions and Start-Up business unit in implementing and administering HR activities at multiple sites in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area. The Site HR Generalist will report to the Americas Senior HR Business Partner and may support the business partner with business unit initiatives across the region which includes the Unites States, Canada and Trinidad & Tobago. The site HR generalist will also assist with any global People & Culture initiatives that are implemented across the organization and may collaborate with corporate functions such as payroll, total rewards, HRIS, IT, and HSE.

You must be able to operate strategically but also tactical to complete work at an operational level.


Your responsibilities:
Employee RelationsAct as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, grievances, and conflict resolution.Provide guidance to employees and managers on company policies and procedures.Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, escalating to the Sr. HRBP where necessary.Track and trend employee relations issues to identify gaps and provide solutions to business/site where necessary
Recruitment & OnboardingCoordinates pre-employment process and activities providing updates and communicating directly with new hires, hiring managers, and other partner groups as necessary (e.g. site admins, HSE, payroll, IT, etc.)Conducts Kent HR orientation on site, assists with completion of all new hire paperwork, I-9 documentation, and required paperwork for the project sites and local legislatureSupports the recruiting process as appropriate for the project; collaborates with project management team and recruiting partners for posting details and interviews applicants as required
Performance ManagementSupport site supervision in the performance management process, providing guidance on performance improvement plans (PIPs), disciplinary action as well as recognition and employee development strategies.Assist in addressing performance-related concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.Prepare, distribute and process any internal changes to employment terms such as position, pay and title changes associated to development or to new project assignments ensuring compliance with client and company requirements (e.g. rate sheets and delegation of authority).
Training & DevelopmentIdentify site-specific training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and compliance with health and safety standards and employee development. Ensure all mandatory training (e.g., safety, compliance) is completed in a timely manner.
Compliance & Policy EnforcementEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA).Maintain updated knowledge of HR policies and procedures, providing guidance on their interpretation and application.
HR Data & ReportingMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS and other systems with ability to identify and address discrepancies with a proper recommendation.Assist with preparation of regular reports on HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and employee engagement.Analyze trends and make recommendations to improve HR practices and site performance.
Site Demobilization and OffboardingCoordinate demobilization activities which may include transfers to new project assignments ensuring proper approvals and timely communication with all key partners where necessary.Coordinate with HRBP and site leadership with any offboarding of employees ensuring all activities completed based on type of termination, which will include offboarding letters, exit interviews, etc.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferredMinimum 3 years’ of site experience as a HR generalist in a construction or manufacturing settingStrong understanding of employment standards and HR best practicesKnowledge of applicable legislation and regulatory HR guidelinesAbility to oversee multiple tasks at once with minimal directionCommunication:Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required
Behavior/ Core Competencies:Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectivelyProven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated and strong customer service skillsStrong interpersonal skillsMS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) proficiency requiredExperience with Oracle software preferredMust have tangible employee relations skills with the ability to handle investigations, grievances, and other inquiries. Ability to work well under pressure and respond to changing priorities. Excellent customer service and relationship building skills; ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with a wide variety of individuals.
