What You’ll Do:
As our Human Resource Generalist, you’ll play a pivotal role in the daily functions of the HR department including hiring, interviewing, payroll, benefits, leave, and enforcing policies and practices. Your responsibilities will include:
Oversee the entire recruiting process, including recruiting, onboarding, and orientation.Act as the primary point of contact for applicants and employees regarding HR inquiries, policies, and support, fostering open communication and a positive workplace environment.Coordinate attendance records for union employees and implement disciplinary procedures in accordance with union agreements, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement.Manage the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to ensure accurate data management, streamline HR processes, and provide support for reporting and analytics.Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.Administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.Performs other duties as assigned.What You Bring:
Excellent verbal and written communication along strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.Proven organizational skills with attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when appropriate. Committed to acting with professionalism and confidentiality, knowledgeable about employment-related laws and regulations, and adherence to company policies on safety, attendance, and appearance.Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of quickly learning HRIS and talent management systems, ADP or Workday preferred.Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.At least one year of Human Resource Management experience preferred.Previous experience in a Union environment a plus.Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment a plus.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
