Description
The HR generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee events and programs.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTAB ILITIES:
+ Utilizing independent judgment and decision-making, this position is responsible for the delivery of customized Human Resource service solutions that positively impact our organization’s human capital retention and growth.
+ Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations.
+ Lead and coach management through a planning and/or implementation process and implements programs to enhance productivity and reduce liability through improved communications and HR practices. These include, but are not limited to, handbooks, job descriptions, performance appraisal systems, employee counseling, hiring processes, terminations, job competencies, compensation planning and salary surveys.
+ Partners with management to schedule and coordinate liability management training for employees.
+ Assists with formal presentations, including controversial topics or complex ideas, in a clear, concise and logical sequence at a level appropriate to the audience.
+ Assists with managing completion of key HR Deliverables utilizing knowledge from various Human Resource disciplines to help identify their application and impact on the organization.
+ Collaborates with Chief of Staff, HR Director, and Executive Team to design customized reports and communicate directly with employees. As required, generates reports on regular basis for organization.
+ Communicates, endorses and models the Company vision and culture.
+ Provides sound guidance in each interaction.
+ Manages each HR interaction in a positive, professional manner.
+ Builds, maintains and promotes effective, highly functional relationships with all internal and external clients.
+ Exhibits good stewardship of monetary expenses.
+ Maintains necessary tracking mechanisms and makes recommendations for improving performance standards and measurements.
+ Ability to recommend and create effective counseling, disciplinary, or coaching documentation.
+ Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
+ Facilitate the company’s workers comp, FMLA and unpaid leave processes.
+ Coordinate/conduct new hire orientations and onboarding processes.
+ Represents organization pertaining to, but not limited to, personnel related investigations.
+ Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
+ Provides guidance and service, focusing on liability management, including performance measurement review, employee counseling, policy development and administration and terminations. Consults with internal management as needed.
+ Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints. Manages resolution of associate relations investigations to ensure fair, consistent, and proper resolution in consideration of company policy, procedures and values.
+ Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
+ Facilitates HR related training.
+ Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
+ Assist with HR Recruiter with interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill exempt-level, professional and technical job openings. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements.
+ Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
+ Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
+ Collaborates with the HR Director to respond to all EEOC and external charges.
+ Participates in the warehouse and office safety committees.
+ Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
+ Strong self-starter. Must be investigative by nature and willing to challenge the status quo.
+ 3+ years minimum Human Resource generalist experience with emphasis on employee relations preferred.
+ HR experience in a contract packaging/distribution environment, preferred.
+ SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months.
+ Bilingual preferred; Spanish
+ Strong oral and written skill set.
+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Professional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other required computer systems.
+ Ability to travel up to 30%

Salary Description
$75,000 - $95,000 annually
