Human Resources Generalist
Huntsville, AL, USA | Full Time Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Location: Huntsville, AL (On-Site) Canvas, Inc. provides services to a diverse group of customers in the areas of Test and Evaluation, Engineering Services, Program & Acquisition Management, and Product Integration. We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our corporate office in Huntsville, AL. This is an onsite position. Job Description: The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a team environment and making positive changes to the lives of employees at Canvas. The HR Generalist will partner with our current HR team, managers and employees to provide HR support and solutions and will report to the Human Resources Manager. Responsibilities: • Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. • Maintains employee data in various filing systems and using organizational tools. • Assist with benefits administration activities to include but not limited to the following: (health, dental, vision, HRA, Life/AD&D, LTD, STD, retirement, etc.) o Coordination with third-party administrators and carriers. o Research, negotiate and implement employee benefits plans that are cost effective for the organization while meeting the health and welfare needs of employees. o Assist with Open enrollment process utilize Deltek Employee Self Service module. o Assist with communication of all benefit information to a diverse population of employees: process enrollments and changes, reconcile invoices for payment, assist employees with claims issues and required compliance and disclosure matters. • Back-up for conducting of new employee orientation to include Benefits, Timekeeping, and Company Policies/Procedures. • Support workforce at large by providing for manager and employee needs using operational and organizational resources. • Assist with onboarding activities including orientation, I-9, E-Verify, employee file creation, and timekeeping training for all new hires. • Tracks and administers our tuition reimbursement program. • Assists with annual events such as external annual reporting, performance reviews, engagement activities and awards. • Cross-training with benefits administration • Work with HR Team Members to develop process improvements for critical policies and practices. • Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience: • Minimum three years of human resources experience. Required Education and Skills: • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field • Experience within Microsoft Office Suite, Costpoint People Module, and Deltek are a plus. • Excellent communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, • Excellent time-management skills with proven ability to prioritize complex issues and meet deadlines. • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. • Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision on projects and initiatives in required time frames. • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. • Detail oriented with demonstrated project management and analytical skills.
