Human Resources Generalist
About the role

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to be based in our London office. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this role will appeal to someone who is highly motivated, has strong communication skills, good judgement and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As part of the HR group, this position will provide dedicated HR service to our London and Stratford offices.

Responsibility Full cycle recruitment including preparing and posting jobs, coordinating interview times, conducting interviews, completing reference checks and preparing offers of employment Act as the first point of contact for Managers and employees on HR-related inquiries including but not limited to interpretation of HR policies and procedures, benefit programs, work permits and HR workflows Respond to external HR related inquiries from external business partners, educational institutions and other parties Provide advice and guidance to Managers on employee relations matters including but not limited to performance management, progressive discipline, layoffs and termination of employment Process employment changes and associated documentation including promotions, transfers, position changes, supervisor changes and remote work agreements. Provide general Human Resources support including preparation of email and letter correspondence, forms, reports, and metrics Coordinate both employee onboarding and off boarding procedures and associated tasks Provide input into the development of HR policies and procedures, assisting with annual review and updates Managing sensitive and confidential employee information/records, data and files, in both paper and electronic formats (HRIS – Dayforce), according to legislative guidelines Assist with HR and Leadership training programs, including presentation, as required. Assisting with the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, as required Assist with administration of our disability management processes including short- and long-term disability claims Collaborate with the overall HR team by participating in various HR projects in support of the HR Business plan and strategy Attend monthly HR meetings at the Kitchener office, contributing to assigned agenda items Attend recruitment related events including but not limited to career fairs, on campus industry nights, and Capstone project presentations. Travel: Ability to work from our Stratford office once per week is required.  Travel to our Kitchener office for monthly meetings as well as travel to recruitment related events is required.  Mileage for work related travel is reimbursed.  Occasional evening work to attend recruitment related events is required. Other related duties, as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Human Resources Minimum 5 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role CHRP Designation Experience dealing with Employee Relations issues Experience with full cycle recruitment Ability to deal with confidential and/or sensitive information Excellent attention to detail and a strong ability to multi-task Experience working with Ceridian – Dayforce HRIS is considered an asset Workplace Investigation Certification is considered an asset Access to a vehicle is required for work related travel
