We look forward to your application.  About the position: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, DEI initiatives, and employee engagement for a growing company. The generalist will also be responsible for ATS administration, hiring efforts, and performance management. Must be someone who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and who is ready to be a proactive member of an innovative team.  Must be local to Chicago and able to be in office once per week.      Essential Functions:  + Responsible for employee lifecycle events including onboarding and offboarding  + Lead hiring efforts including creation of job descriptions, candidate sourcing and screening, and the interview process  + Manage employee engagement efforts, including employee recognition, virtual and in-person events, employee surveys and data collection   + ATS maintenance and administration  + Lead company culture initiatives, event planning, and special projects in collaboration with director of human resources  + Benefits administration including open enrollment and AMO Family Leave  + Staying up to date on HR best practices and regulations, ensuring company adherence to labor laws   + Assist with developing and rolling out new company policies  + Assist with performance review development and administration   + Sit on AMO’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and support AMO’s DEI initiatives  + Serve as a resource on training and development opportunities   + Manage the team calendar and internal communications   + Support process improvement activities within the HR department  + Collaborate with other AMO teams and serve as a resource regarding employee relations  + Other duties as assigned  Skills: + Possess a strong work ethic   + Ability to communicate effectively and credibly, verbally and in writing, across the organization   + Be upbeat, driven, intelligent, well-organized, and articulate   + Strive to best support the strategic vision and guidance set by team and company leadership   + Thrive in a fun, fast-paced, startup environment   + Represent the team professionally and ethically   + Be adaptable to change in the workplace and use change as an opportunity for innovation and creativity   + Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects while working in a results-oriented environment   + Team player who is self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to achieve goals without daily supervision   + Strong analytical and research skills  + Survey design; collect and analyze data to provide recommendations based on findings      + Possess sound problem-solving and critical thinking skills   + A high level of written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to think creatively   + Maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise good judgement   + Ability to learn new technology  + Proficient in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, and Outlook  + Must be local to Chicago and able to be in office (River North) once per week  Education/Experience: + Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, industrial/organizational psychology or related field  + 2+ years of experience in human resources, including full-cycle recruitment   + 1+ years of experience with benefit administration   + Experience with Microsoft Office, ATS, and Google Forms    + Experience working in a fast-paced startup culture experiencing rapid growth   What You Gain: + Competitive salary of $60,000 to $75,000 annually + Comprehensive Benefits Program: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, Tax Exempt Student Loan Repayment, and Commuter Benefits + A mission-driven work environment committed to a spirit of support, growth, and achievement + Performance-based career growth opportunities + A front-row seat for the exponential growth of a booming education tech company + Work/life balance Equal Opportunity Employer   At AMOpportunities we champion the reality of diversity and the necessity of inclusion and accessibility.
