Human Resources Generalist
Description Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization in the education sector that works tirelessly to make a lasting impact on students, educators, and the communityl. They are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team and play a pivotal role in maintaining an inclusive and supportive workplace. Responsibilities + Serve as the first point of contact for employees' HR-related questions, providing advice, guidance, and support while fostering a culture of trust and inclusion. + Manage the full recruitment life cycle, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding new hires, ensuring diverse and talented candidates are brought into the organization. + Ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to HR policies, practices, and procedures specific to nonprofit and education industries. + Assist employees in understanding available benefits and oversee payroll processing, collaborating with external vendors as needed. + Assist in writing, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures tailored to a nonprofit environment. + Monitor employee performance reviews, support managers in delivering feedback, and execute recognition programs. + Identify organizational needs and coordinate employee training initiatives to enhance skillsets and foster professional growth. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. + At least 3 years of HR experience, including work in nonprofit or education organizations, is highly preferred. + PHR, SHRM-CP, or HRIP certification is a plus. + Proficiency in HRIS systems, benefits software, and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, or Concur). + Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with individuals at all levels. + Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. + Ability to work effectively in a mission-driven, fast-paced nonprofit environment with changing priorities. + A passion for education, equity, and supporting a meaningful cause.
