Human Resources Generalist -InterContinental Mark Hopkins

Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable colleague experience each and every time.  The **HR Generalist** will play a key role in supporting colleagues and management in all aspects of human resources, ensuring compliance with labor laws, HR policies, and best practices. This role requires strong knowledge of HR systems, absence management, workers’ compensation, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture. **What we need from you** **HR Compliance & Labor Laws:** Ensure the hotel is up to date with all HR policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, EEO, and workplace safety. **Recruitment & Onboarding:** Responsible for the hiring and onboarding cycle using recruitment systems and communication tools. **Absence Management:** Ability to navigate and manage company, local, state, and federal leave programs, and other accommodations, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. **Workers’ Compensation:** Manage workers’ compensation claims, coordinate with insurance partners, and support colleagues through the return-to-work process. **Colleague Engagement:** Drive the Colleague Engagement Experience by selecting, coordinating, and executing engagement initiatives. **HR Administration:** Maintain accurate personnel records, HRIS updates, and act as the liaison between HR and payroll. **Training:** Track and oversee required company training for all colleagues to ensure compliance. **Qualifications:** A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years broad HR experience including onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, & leave of absence. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and skilled in using other Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Teams and Outlook). Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and exceptional client service skills are required. Must be a self-starter with the skills to work independently under minimal supervision and with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Experience with HRIS systems preferred. Experience working with unemployment insurance or CA EDD preferred. Must be able to retain/work with highly confidential information. Language - extra language skills would be great, but not essential.  Chinese and/or Spanish make you even more accessible to our colleague population.  Flexibility - night, weekend and holiday shifts can be part of the job.  While rare – they happen.  Strength - sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling.  **What you can expect from us** The hourly pay range for this role is  **$30.00 to $34.00** . This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at  **InterContinental Mark Hopkins.** This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.
