Human Resources Generalist Investigator
Richmond Community Services, a leading non-profit provider of support services for Westchester County's developmentally, intellectually and behaviorally challenged individuals, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist. Summary of Position: Under the supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the HR Generalist Investigator is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HR Generalist Investigator oversees issues related to employee relations, labor relations and conflict resolution within the organization. The HR Generalist Investigator trains department managers, HR staff, and other employees in conflict resolution techniques. The HR Generalist Investigator conducts confidential investigation into internal reports of misconduct. Essential Job Functions: • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel. • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. • Participate in recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding. • Support benefits administration, employee performance evaluations, and employee recognition programs. • Conduct new hire orientation and provide ongoing employee support. • Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management. • Assist in HR reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. • Assess organizational morale and turnover by conducting trend analysis using exit interviews, separation notices and other relevant sources of information. • Conduct confidential investigations into complaints related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, misconduct, and policy violations. • Collaborate with HR leadership, legal counsel, and department heads on complex investigations. • Prepare detailed investigation reports, including findings and recommendations. • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies throughout the investigation process. • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. • Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. • Advises supervisors in the administration of progressive discipline and mediates performance discussions and/or termination meetings between supervisors and staff. • Supports the development and implementation of employee engagement and recognition programs. Qualifications & Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in HR, organization development, business administration, or related field preferred. • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant business experience required, preferably working as a HR Generalist or Internal Investigator. • Experience working with a Union preferred. • Reliable transportation to travel between Agency sites required.
