Human Resources Generalist (onsite)

Newtown Savings Bank is seeking a motivated, detail oriented professional to assist our fast-paced HR team as a Human Resources Generalist. This position has a broad spectrum of responsibilities including recruitment and onboarding of new employees, providing support to the Human Resources team with employee communications, secondary payroll administration, A/P processing, filing, and other administrative duties associated with the HR department. This is an onsite opportunity at our Corporate office in Newtown, CT. This role has remote option of one day per week.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a multi-incumbent position. Included below are the areas of responsibilities that are shared between those in this role. Some responsibilities might be designated to one person as the primary and the other as the back-up.
Employment/Employee Relations Activities:
This includes:
+ Scheduling of interviews and for internal and external candidates
+ Recruiting for open positions.
+ Assisting with different recruiting events and career fairs.
+ Maintaining recruiting files (both electronic and paper).
+ Assisting with recruiting tasks to include postings, screening candidates, HR interviews, background screens, collecting candidate summary sheets, and preparing all pre-interview tasks (distribution of behavioral interview guides, coordination of interviews, pre-employment assessments).
+ Assisting with all employee announcements. This will include internal postings, new hire announcements, internal transfers, and others as assigned.
+ Coordinating all onboarding activities with the hiring manager/department in conjunction with supervisor (assembling onboarding packages, create employee folder, and set onboarding date).
+ Assisting with the Employee Recognition program.
+ Assisting with the annual bank wide employee activities, which include but are not limited to annual employee dinner and annual employee picnic.
+ Assisting with AAP records.
+ Assist with Employee Relations issues.
Payroll/HRIS Activities/Compliance/Benefits Administration:
This includes:
+ Payroll processing
+ Various Monthly Reporting
+ Updating the bank wide organization charts as needed.
+ Assisting with FDICIA and other internal or external audit related tasks.
+ HRIS Backup
+ Payroll secondary audit report “checker” (FDICIA)
+ New Employee Benefit Packets/Open Enrollment
+ Additional reports within ADP as needed
+ Provide general support for employee benefit questions
+ Employee cards (get well, congratulations, sympathy)
+ Maintaining employee files and record retention
Learning & Development Activities:
This includes:
+ Assist with learning management system administration and reporting
+ Assist with leadership training program administration
+ Assist with performance management system administration and Bank-wide process
+ Facilitate training as needed
+ Assist as needed with various administrative tasks to support Learning & Development team
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
+ A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and a minimum of 1-2 years of HR experience -OR- absent a degree, 4 to 6 years of experience in a Human Resources related field. SHRM-CP preferred.
+ Advanced level of experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher is a must. Must demonstrate strong keyboard skills.
