JOB SUMMARY

UIC Commercial Services is seeking a Human Resources Generalist capable of exercising independent discretion and judgment in support of various HR functions. This position requires a candidate who is proactive and can work on projects individually and as part of a team. The HR Generalist will collaborate with employees, leadership, and parent company human resources personnel to develop and implement effective human resources strategies and programs.

Responsibilities

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform a variety of complex, professional level tasks in multiple functional areas including, but not limited to compliance and legislation adherence, policy development, employee relations, compensation, employee systems/maintenance and benefitsProvide guidance to employees, managers and business leaders relative to Corporate/HR policies, procedures, and programs; ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and corporate policies and guidelinesEnsure compliance and provide guidance on the Davis Bacon Act to employees, managers and business leadersCreate and provide management with appropriate metrics and reports for decision-makingAssist with employee relations matters including diagnosing problems, determining appropriate level of corrective action, coaching managers, and reviewing corrective action documentation to mitigate risk and minimize legal actionLead relevant HR projects and performs other duties as assignedSupport and execute the strategic direction of HR, including implementation of high-value added HR processes that support business goals and objectivesCollaborate with all management levels to drive business results that optimize talent, structure, process and cultureAct as a change agent for key business changes and as an advocate in the communication of HR changesAct as primary POC Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Management; or four to eight (4-8) years of work experience in Human Resources .Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with all levels of employees.Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.Must be familiar with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, SCA, DBA, and general employment laws.Must have strong HRIS experience.Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts. In order to receive and respond to instructions/assignments, must be able to read, write, and speak English.Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

 

EXPERIENCE

Experience within the government contracting industry highly preferredExperience with Davis Bacon Act.PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.Experience with UltiPro
