How you will help us create value together
As aHuman Resources Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the HR Department. This team provides support to all of the loading business unit employees in Milwaukee, WI. This onsite position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee’s Harbor District. The target start date for this role is Summer 2025 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2025 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.
Key Job Responsibilities
+ Work closely with the loading business unit teams to create job descriptions (JDs)
+ Kronos Implementation/Training
+ HR systems facilitation – Including SAP, UKG, Kronos, and Success Factors
+ Assist with Milwaukee Invoicing process
+ Intern Program facilitation, communications, and engagement
+ Community outreach exposure
+ Training implementation/communication
+ Labor relations exposure
+ Support onboarding process – training and assisting as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
+ Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human Resources or a related field
+ Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or master’s level student in good academic standing
+ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
+ Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
+ Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in Human Resources or related field. At least Junior status is preferred.
+ Available for work approximately 40 hours per week in the summer months
+ Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and be flexible
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a strong customer service approach
+ Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality-always
+ Competent in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
