Human Resources Intern (Part-Time)

Job Summary The Human Resources Intern is responsible for assisting with HR-related duties on a professional level and reports to the HR Director. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: preboarding, orientation, policy implementation, tracking, company morale events, and filing/organizing.
This position is part-time and will not exceed 29hrs per week. Expected hours are 25-29 hours per week.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
We will be hiring two Human Resources Interns (Part-Time) to fill this role. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
+ Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel.
+ Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; helps prepare and maintain the employee handbook and other policies and procedures.
+ Maintains employee personnel files, internal resume database, and tracks new hire paperwork.
+ Tracks various important items for the HR department, including annual performance reviews for personnel folders.
+ Processes background checks and termination paperwork.
+ Helps with preparing and routing Employee Change Action Forms.
+ Administers Employee Recognition programs, including “You Rock” cards.
+ Responsible for pre-boarding efforts and assisting with employee orientation, including onboarding packets and initial week follow-ups.
+ Supports employee engagement efforts, including planning and executing morale and wellness program activities, employee engagement events, and promotional materials.
+ Assists with company-wide communications.
+ Supports HR Director and HR Generalist as needed.

+ Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development.
+ Junior or Senior level in college working on a curriculum towards a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
+ A self-starter with a strong desire to learn.
+ Must have own transportation.
+ Available hours between 9:00am – 5:00pm.
+ Willingness to work on a flexible schedule.
+ Experience with an HRIS preferred.

+ Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
+ Excellent organizational management skills with a solid attention to detail.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
+ Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
+ Strong time management skills.
+ Ability to discreetly handle confidential information.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
