Human Resources Interns are responsible for providing our employees with exceptional customer service, assisting with the onboarding process, and gaining general overall knowledge of Human Resources within an organization.
Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Professionally greet visitors and employees to the HR Support offices as the first point-of-contact and determine the purpose of their visit to provide appropriate assistance, information, or direction.*
Assist with orientation, onboarding, and employee processing in Applicant Tracking, Onboarding and HR systems*
Create and print employee and vendor ID cards*
Maintain electronic employee documents and files*
Maintain an open line of communication with members of the HR team, operations teams and other property HR business partners*
Potential to represent HE&R at recruitment events
Record employee recognition program documents and issue earned rewards*
Professionally answer calls for our HR Support Center and ParkHR offices and log all calls in our computer-based tracking system*
Assist applicants with online job applications*
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program as of the Spring 2025 semester majoring in Business, Communications, Psychology, Human Resources Management, Training or related major. Seniors who will be graduating in Fall/Winter 2024 will not be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in Google Suite and have the ability to quickly learn additional computer based applications
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be innovative and be self-motivated to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Must be organized and detail-oriented
Must be friendly, upbeat, and appeal to various audiences such as other colleagues and guests within the organization
Must display a positive attitude, willingness to learn and professional image compliant with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines
Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information
Job Demands:
This internship is being offered for January - May 2025 with the possibility of extending the internship through the end of August.
The intern will have the opportunity to work at both the Human Resources Support Center and the Hersheypark Entertainment Complex Human Resources Office, both located in Hershey, PA.
Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays with the opportunity to work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week
Physical requirements include standing, sitting, walking, and communicating.
