Human Resources Law Lead for Product Lines - Managing Director or Executive Director

As a lawyer in the HR Law Practice Group, you will work with Human Resources professionals, legal colleagues, control partner and business leaders to advise on the firm’s human capital strategies and work to improve the Human Resources function across the globe to deliver a first-rate employee experience. You will work with the Product Lines to understand the business case, anticipate risks, deliver solutions and imagine a better and more productive employee experience using data, digital, machine learning and analytics to drive decision making.  You be relied upon to offer wise counsel by being able to move between big picture and details and by engaging your HR Law, broader Legal department, compliance, control and other colleagues to make decisions.

Job Responsibilities

Work closely with Human Resources to assess risk, develop strategy and formulate our approach as well as to provide legal advice and develop as a legal counselor Work with multiple internal colleagues across disciplines to craft solutions Use employee data, feedback and insights across HR to formulate legal advice to drive solutions Provide strategic advice and counsel on all types of human capital opportunities, risks and challenges faced by the firm As necessary, instruct, manage and lead outside Counsel who may help with discerning applicable rules & regulations, reviewing draft documents and formulating strategy From time to time, handle regulatory inquiries or manage litigation, contentious regulatory matters and disputes, either as stand-alone matters or as part of a wider team including outside Counsel

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school 15+ years of progressively increasing responsibility advising on employment law and human capital issues with an in-depth knowledge of labor and employment laws, regulations and best practices Understanding of the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence in digital transformation Active license to practice law or to be licensed immediately in jurisdiction Ability to respond to business issues with workable solutions often under critical time  End-to-end Handling of employment litigation  Excellent relationship management and people skills – ability to get along with a broad mix of people and personality styles and ability to navigate and influence the organization effectively while thinking globally Ability to provide firm guidance on complex and sensitive issues with the appropriate balance of commercial risk Excellent drafting skills Proven facility with Controls and Judgment through complex roles The confidence and gravitas to advise senior management and influence individuals within the organization

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Previous experience advising a Product Operating Model Counseling of a public company Committee or Board OpEx experience and orientation Agile training and work experience Prior counseling through a digital transformation Willingness to learn from business subject experts with legal view Ease of movement between big picture and detail Excellent organizational skills and a flexible attitude to work and colleague coverage
