Cenovus is looking for a Human Resources Manager at our Superior, WI, location. This position is a member of the refinery and US Human Resources leadership teams and is accountable for leading the HR function supporting Cenovus’s Superior Refining Company. Emphasis is on providing sound management and leadership in all aspects of HR, with broader expectations for supporting overall business unit (BU) performance; provide BU management with advice and counsel on current and future human resources requirements that provides realistic and creative solutions to issues and provides guidance to enhance organizational development.

What you’ll do:
Proactively consults and advises managers and employees on personnel/HR issues and organizational development concernsProvides direction and advice in the administration and interpretation of Company policies and practicesParticipates as part of the Business Unit and Leadership Team in achieving desired business performance by identifying areas for process improvement, enrolling the group's commitment, and then cooperatively providing resources and/or delivering effective processes/learning to resolve issues or to meet business objectivesObserves team processes and suggests and/or provides interventions and feedback to the team leader and team members as appropriate. Asks questions that help the team to clarify and confront a problem and to make their own decisionsParticipate in business planning, decisions and BU strategy development and share fully in business priorities. Provides assurance that regional HR initiatives and strategies are reflective of BU priorities and initiatives to ensure successful delivery of HR programs to meet BU needsSupports the development of business unit HR management objectives and site specific practices, aligned to both regional and corporate policies and strategy in consultation with regional HR leadership team, which reflect the business environmentContributes to the development of the annual BU scorecard with a particular focus on defining BU specific HR priorities with success measuresProvide support to define and develop BU organizational effectiveness and design to ensure current and future workforce needs are met to ensure effective BU resourcing requirements are met. Translate such requirements to Talent Acquisition team to ensure BU TA strategies are fit for purpose and reflect business requirementsOversee the maintenance of site employee records and maintenance to ensure compliance to legal and Cenovus information management protocolsSupports and coaches leaders in providing resource strategies and employee developmentParticipate as a contributing member of the broader HR team in special projects and activities in support of the broader business objectives of CenovusWho you are:
Bachelors in Business Administration/HR, or similar, required10+ total years of work experience, including 5 – 7 years of related experience in leading a multi-disciplinary HR teamPreferred:
Expert knowledge in employee relations, HR policy development and administration and organizational effectivenessWorking knowledge of benefit plans, compensation, payroll practices, training and employee development, employment law, affirmative action, EEOC Professional Human Resources or Society for Human Resources Management Professional certification(s)Energy and complex manufacturing experienceForward ThinkingChange AgilityDevelops PotentialCommunicates EffectivelyWorks CollaborativelyTechnical/Professional SkillsDrives for ResultsWhat we offer:
