Human Resources Manager


Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, with a dotted line to the COO, the Human Resources Manager will lead and execute Norseman Structure’s human resources strategy to support organizational goals, fostering a productive and engaged workforce. This role involves overseeing HR functions such as talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and training. The Human Resources Manager will collaborate with leadership to align HR practices with business objectives, develop initiatives to enhance company culture, and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.

Responsibilities: 

Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on creating high-performance teams and addressing employment-related matters.Identify knowledge gaps with leaders and determine necessary training and development programs to address them.Manage the recruitment and selection process, working with the HR Coordinator and leaders to develop recruitment strategies, prepare interview materials, and facilitate the selection process.Coordinate and conduct onboarding for new employees.Oversee and conduct exit interviews with voluntarily resigned employees, reporting concerns and suggestions to the COO.Evaluate employee satisfaction and engagement, recommending initiatives to enhance the employee experience.Develop and deliver internal training programs on topics such as soft skills, leadership development, and software applications.Implement strategies that contribute to organizational success, including performance management, succession planning, development planning, and mentorship programs. Ensure these processes align with business needs and are executed on time.Analyze compensation trends and conduct market research to assess the company’s competitiveness, making recommendations as needed.Collaborate with the VP, Human Resources, to update policies and procedures in compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.Maintain employee records.Investigate incidents and report findings and recommendations to the VP HR and COO.Act as the leadership liaison for the Social Committee and provide support where necessary.Analyze employment-related metrics and report findings to senior leadership.Collaborate with the VP, Human Resources, on projects such as organizational changes and system implementations.

 

Education/Experience: 

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources coupled with 5+ years’ experience in a generalist capacityCPHR designation would be considered an assetStrong Technical skills as it relates to HR systems specifically ADP WFN and reportingAbility to maintain confidentiality, integrity and professionalismExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and influence leadersStrong analytical and problem solving skillsThorough knowledge of relevant employment standards legislation
