**Job Description:** **Business Unit Description** Since 1982, Rippey has been an innovator in developing and advancing technologies and products supporting the global microelectronics industry. With our worldwide product and technical support facilities, Rippey leads the advancement in the science of materials development for critical cleaning application solutions. **Job Summary:** This position is responsible for independently managing daily issues related to all phases of the employee life cycle such as recruitment, hiring, compensation administration, employee relations, talent management and development, employee data maintenance, and reporting. **Supervision Received:** Works under general direction of the Business Unit Manager. **Supervision Exercised:** Manages a process or function without direct reports. Influences the work efforts of managers and supervisors as it relates to the process of function managed. **Discretion:** Resolves issues and contributes to Business Unit development. Makes decisions based on Company objectives, policies and procedures. Latitude to make decisions to achieve defined goals. Develops guidelines, processes and procedures for Company. **General Responsibilities:** + Demonstrates proficiency in HR operations, policies, processes, and procedures. + Acts as an advisor and provides technical HR expertise and analytical support to the management team regarding the application of employment laws and corporate policies when addressing specific business issues. + Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the workplace, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. + Responsible for all areas of Human Resources planning including long-term strategic planning as well as annual planning within the Business Unit. + Partners with local management to effectively manage the talent acquisition process, including: managing staffing vendors, implementing targeted and innovative recruiting strategies, interviewing, and maintaining applicant tracking & record keeping. Works with line managers to effectively source, assess and hire candidates. + Uses sound judgment to provide effective performance management guidance to line management: coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions. + Creates, coordinates, and conducts live and virtual management training for various topics including performance management, harassment, compensation, and talent management. + Organizes and conducts new employee orientation: creates a positive first experience of the company and serves as a role model for ITW values. + Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. + Works closely with management and employees to establish a positive employee relations environment. This includes leading initiatives aimed at improving work relationships & team dynamics, building morale, increasing productivity and reducing turnover. + Conducts and analyzes wage survey data. Maintains position descriptions and market comparisons. + Responds to inquiries regarding benefit programs and educates employees in the use of the self-service applications available to them. + Safety Team Leader & active participant in safety compliance & improvement activities. + Responsible for adhering to all Company, department, quality, and safety procedures. + Other job-related duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of business study. + Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity in human resources to include experience with recruitment & training processes, benefit and compensation administration, employee relations, and legal compliance requirements. + Familiarity with California labor laws and experience working in an HR capacity in California is highly desirable. + Strong written/verbal communication skills; demonstrates good listening and coaching skills; able to communicate and work effectively with all levels in the organization. + Computer literate to include proficiency with MS-Office and exposure to mainstream HRIS software platform(s) + Independent and organized work style: Effectively manages time and prioritizes workload, assumes and manages multiple tasks and projects without close supervision. + Self-starter who is highly adaptable and capable of leading and facilitating change. + Make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve services and processes. + Ability to use good judgment and discretion while handling highly confidential business and employee information. **Work Conditions:** + Some minimal travel may be periodically required (<10%) + Chemical processing areas, cleanrooms, laboratories, customer manufacturing facilities, and standard business environment. **Physical Requirements & Work Environment** The physical demands / work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
