**Summary**
Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, the Human Resource Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the organization's employee relations strategy, ensuring a positive, fair, and legally compliant work environment. This role is dedicated to fostering strong relationships between employees and management, resolving workplace conflicts, and driving initiatives that enhance engagement, retention, and overall workplace culture. As a trusted advisor to management and employees, the HR Manager provides expert guidance on workplace policies, performance management, and employment law compliance.
In this newly created role, the HR Manager will proactively support leaders in navigating HR matters, improving team dynamics, and reinforcing a high-performance culture across the organization. This position requires a strategic yet hands-on approach, balancing problem-solving, coaching, and driving HR initiatives that make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader and skilled HR professional with strong interpersonal skills, a consultative mindset, and the ability to coach and guide leaders through complex HR challenges.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead talent acquisition efforts, including recruitment, hiring, and onboarding. Support managers with workforce planning, job evaluations, and compensation structures.
+ Recruit, hire, train, and oversee HR staff. Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to support employee and managerial development.
+ Manage disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations. Support Managers in terminations. Ensure compliance with HR policies, legal requirements, and industry standards, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
+ Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices. Oversee performance reviews, improvement plans, and career development discussions.
+ Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation and benefits programs. In collaboration with finance, oversee payroll functions, ensuring timely review and approval.\
+ Continuously assess and refine HR policies, procedures, and practices to enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and align with evolving regulations. Ensure consistent application and enforcement across teams
+ Design and oversee training programs for employees and managers, supporting skill development and leadership growth.
+ Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, workplace culture, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)
+ Partner with the HR Business Partner (HRBP) to align HR initiatives with business goals, support organizational change, and facilitate effective communication.
+ Manage HR budget allocation across employee relations and engagement programs, track spending, and prepare reports as required. Build and oversee the employee relations team to execute broader HR strategies.
+ Perform additional HR-related duties as required to support business objectives.
**Qualifications & Experience**
+ 5+ years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations, policy enforcement, HR compliance, and talent acquisition.
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field.
+ Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
+ Professional HR designations from Canada and/or the U.S. (e.g., CHRP, CHRL, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) are preferred
+ Strong knowledge of employment legislation, workplace investigations, and HR best practices.
+ Proven experience advising leadership on employee relations and workplace issues.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
+ Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
+ Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
+ High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in handling sensitive HR matters.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) or related software.
+ Experience with HRIS and talent management systems or the ability to learn quickly.
+ French fluency is an asset, but not required.
**Additional Information:**
+ compensation range: $90,000- $150,000
