Are you passionate about HR and ready to grow your career? Our Arlington, Virginia office is seeking a candidate with 3-5 years of HR experience who is eager to learn and advance. You'll gain hands-on experience, work with seasoned HR professionals, and contribute to innovative HR initiatives in the Mid-Atlantic.

Job Preview. As a Human Resources Representative at HDR, you'll be part of a collaborative team supporting offices in Virginia, Maryland, and DC. Your role will involve diverse responsibilities, from recruiting to employee advocacy, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is an ideal position for someone who is eager to learn and advance within the HR field. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned HR professionals, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to impactful HR initiatives. Key Responsibilities

HRIS Management: Maintain accurate employee records and data in the HR Information System, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Review employee queries periodically for accuracy of information, to including running HR reports.Employee Lifecycle: Onboarding. Coordinate and conduct new hire Onboardings to include completion of new hire paperwork and verify I-9 documentation. Recruitment. Assist with the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, and onboarding. Additionally, administratively track intern recruiting process from start to finish through to hire and onboarding.Offboarding. Coordinate and conduct offboarding and processing of terminations.Training and Development: Assist area HR team in organizing training sessions and workshops for employees on topics such as Unconscious Bias, Feedback, People Styles, and more development sessions.Assist in identifying opportunities for employee skill development and career advancement.HR Projects: Participate in various HR special projects aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.Preferred QualificationsExperience: Minimum 3years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a related HR role.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or aPHR) is a plus.Skills: Strong knowledge of HR practices; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in HRIS systems; ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Attributes:Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities; strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.Local candidates preferredRequired Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalentAbility to communicate professionally with all levels of employees and managementExcellent written and oral communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacyExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word and Excel or similar programsBasic understanding of business activitiesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
