The HR Risk Manager Principal is responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating risks associated with HR practices, policies, and programs, including incentive compensation. This role ensures HR Talent Management programs comply with labor laws and regulatory requirements while managing and reducing exposure to potential liabilities. The HR Risk Manager collaborates with various stakeholders to develop risk management strategies and promotes a culture of accountability and compliance within the HR organization.Responsible for developing and executing risk programs to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report key operational, compliance and other risk types within Human Resources Ensure HR Talent Management programs, policies and processes meet the first line of defense expectations of the OCC’s Heightened Standards for large financial institutionsConduct regular audits and business line risk self-assessments to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulationsPartners with other HR functional areas to develop test plans and ensures control testing is completed in a timely mannerEngages in the development of root cause analysis and action plans for issues identified through exams and testingMonitors complex risk and control environment and identifies solutions to improve control effectivenessEscalate and report risks, program gaps and colleague-impacting issues to leadershipMonitors the remediation efforts to ensure effective and timely closureResponsible for the coordination of timely execution of essential HR Business Risk operational processes including, but not limited to, business continuity planning, exam management, corporate risk management programs and records retentionParticipates in strategic risk programs (e.g., HR Risk Roundtable) that assesses current and emerging risks associated with legal, regulatory and other risk related exposureDevelops complex risk monitoring and reporting to the business process owners, where applicable


Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Business Administration, HR, Finance, Risk Management required.

Experience:

6+ years HR experience with a focus on compliance and risk management required.
4+ years Internal controls and business line audits required.
3+ years HR experience at a Financial Institution preferred.
