Human Resources Specialist
Human Resources Generalist | Hybrid in Herndon, VA | 55k - 65k/yr | 6-Month Contract-to-hire Job Description: As a Human Resources Specialist, you will support the wider organization in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. You will maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while meeting the needs of employees and managers. You will work with the Human Resources Director to provide full HR lifecycle support to non-union managers and employees. Your primary functions will include maintaining positive employee relations, managing performance, interpreting policy, managing internal investigations, administering and advising on compensation decisions, and ensuring compliance with company values, HR policies, procedures, and employment law. Hard Skills + Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field required + 2 years of human resources experience required (ideally in employee relations, new hire orientation, or generalist or HR specialist experience) + Experience using an ATS system (UKG/Ultipro experience a plus) Soft Skills + Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality + Strong interpersonal skills to interact regularly with leaders, managers, supervisors, and employees + Ability to develop and drive retention strategies and developmental programs + Strong problem-solving skills to resolve human resources and business challenges Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). Work Site This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Herndon, Virginia and some days remote. Work Environment This is a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, requiring an individual who can maintain professionalism and confidentiality. You will collaborate with corporate leadership, the Human Resources Director, and the Legal team to provide comprehensive HR support and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
