Job Description:

About the Role:

The Human Resources Specialist serves as an internal business partner to the HR team, providing comprehensive support across all functional areas of Human Resources, with a particular focus on full-cycle recruitment. This role encompasses a variety of tasks, including administrative support, recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and safety initiatives. The HR Specialist will also maintain a strong presence on the floor, assist with employee engagement activities, and help ensure compliance with company policies. By supporting day-to-day HR operations, this role plays a vital part in maintaining a positive work environment and ensuring that the HR department operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Recruitment and Onboarding:

· Perform full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, interviews, background checks, and onboarding activities.

· Coordinate new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.

· Maintain seasonal and full-time workforce data, ensuring accurate tracking of employee records.

2. Employee Relations and Engagement:

· Support employee engagement through organizing events, celebrations, and wellness programs.

· Maintain a strong floor presence with regular interaction with employees, conducting weekly audits.

· Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee inquiries on HR policies and programs.

3. Administrative Support:

· Manage front desk duties, including visitor processing and handling phone inquiries.

· Organize and maintain personnel files, including tracking of disciplinary actions, attendance, and ADA accommodations.

· Maintain inventory for new hire PPE and office supplies.

4. Payroll and Record Management:

· Assist in processing payroll and resolving discrepancies.

· Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of employee information in HRIS and payroll systems.

· Support timekeeping and attendance tracking.

5. Safety and Compliance:

· Assist with safety training initiatives and ensure compliance with company safety policies.

· Support the management of plant security and badge systems.

· Collaborate with the training coordinator to ensure employees receive necessary training.

6. General HR Support:

· Provide updates and contribute to HR meetings, offering insights on recruitment, turnover, and HR initiatives.

· Maintain confidentiality and uphold a high standard of integrity in all HR-related matters.

Important Details: This is a full-time permanent role on the typically on first shift. This position will need to be flexible to work hours from May to September (10am-7pm) and regular hours from 7:30 am-4:30 pm the rest of the year.

· Education: Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or a related field preferred.

· Experience: 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or administrative setting.

· Strong understanding of recruitment processes and HR compliance (SOX experience preferred).

· Knowledge of labor laws and the ability to interpret and administer company policies.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS/Payroll systems.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
