Human Resources Specialist
Description An HR Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the human resources (HR) functions of an organization by helping to implement and manage processes related to recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. This role often focuses on specific HR areas, such as talent acquisition, training and development, or benefits, depending on the organization’s needs. Key Responsibilities Recruitment and Onboarding + Coordinate and execute the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews. + Assist in onboarding new hires by conducting orientation sessions, preparing employee files, and ensuring completion of all required paperwork. Employee Relations + Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, offering support related to HR policies and procedures. + Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, escalating to senior HR staff when necessary. Benefits Administration + Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. + Communicate benefits options to employees and assist with open enrollment processes. Compliance and Documentation + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company-specific policies. + Maintain and update employee records, including payroll data and performance reviews. Training and Development + Organize and deliver training programs to develop employees’ skills and meet organizational goals. + Track and document employee training participation and progress. HR Analytics and Reporting + Collect and analyze HR data, such as employee turnover rates and recruitment metrics. + Prepare reports for management to support data-driven decisions. Requirements Technical Skills + Proficiency in HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, or other Human Resources Information Systems). + Familiarity with HR analytics, payroll tools, and applicant tracking systems (ATS). Interpersonal Skills + Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Certifications and Education + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. + Professional certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) are highly desirable. + knowledge of tools like Concur or HRIP. + Experience with compliance matters and labor laws.
