Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the Total Force Management Program Office (N1), Civilian Workforce Policy and Sustainment (N11), Recruitment/Staffing & CIVMAR Processing (N11B), Classification Branch (N11B4) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND. Responsibilities You will assist the Branch Supervisor with training and mentoring branch staff, while serving as a senior human resources specialist. You will serve as an expert and technical consultant providing assistance and recommendations on command reorganizations and realignments. You will provide advice and guidance directly to managers and employees on position management and advisory services You will serve as a troubleshooter and consultant to management on all classification issues with the independent responsibility for resolving controversial, complex, and very difficult types of problem classification cases. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS 13 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in completing complex classification determinations for GS civilian positions and communicating findings to management. Experience in advising supervisors and managers on organizational structures. Experience in planning and executing reorganization efforts to better support the organization's mission. Experience in providing technical classification training to trainees and/or staff members. For GS 12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in completing classification determinations using OPM position classification and job grading standards for GS civilian positions. Experience in preparing evaluation statements for complex positions including high grade positions. Experience assisting management with planning reorganizations such as consolidations or realignment of existing functions. Experience providing advice and guidance to managers on position management and advisory services.
