Class Summary
Job Description
The HVAC Commercial Service Tech III position will perform journeyman trades duties on commercial HVAC systems & equipment.
Essential Duties
+ Performs complex HVAC installations and repairs
+ Inspects equipment and determines if any repairs are needed
+ Performs preventative maintenance in functional area
+ Maintains level of supplies and equipment
+ Redesigns systems to comply with renovations
+ Inspects newly installed systems to ensure proper workmanship is taken and local codes are met
+ Performs after hours emergency repairs independently
+ Rotates with other team members for after hours on call duties
Other Job Requirements/Information
+ This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
+ This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position is B233. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma
+ Four years of progressively responsible commercial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
+ State of Georgia Conditioned Air License
+ Five years of commercial service experience

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County’s values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
