HVAC Controls Field Technician

The Controls Field Technician is responsible for service field calls, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC control issues. Other responsibilities include preventative maintenance along with the startup, testing/commissioning of construction projects. This position reports to a team project manager and will work closely with the design engineer to ensure they have the necessary tools to be successful on each project. You will work professionally with both internal and external clients and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Tasks and Responsibilities • Troubleshooting commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems. • Troubleshooting DDC systems, low voltage control systems, and computer networks. • Knowledge in mechanical systems and sequences of operations. • Startup and testing of building automation systems. • Working directly with clients and subcontractors to facilitate the installation of designed control systems. • Follows a systematic plan for complete startup of systems and turnover to project team. • Responsible for documentation of startup process for the system. • Takes initiative to find solutions. • Documentation of tested points / and wiring runs/startup process. • Startup/Testing of terminal unit and air handling unit controllers as well as central plant controllers. • Interface with 3rd party manufacturer controls. • Reading and able to understand mechanical design documents (duct layouts, piping schematics, riser diagrams) as well as manufacturer's wire diagrams. • Terminate and trouble shoot wiring and system components. • Creation of software points in the controllers. • Testing of automatic programming sequence • Maintains daily reports on project progress and open items • Any additional tasks as required Minimum Qualifications: • 2+ years Controls field technician experience • Niagara Webs Controls • Carrier IVU Controls • Ability to endure hot and cold environments • Physically able to be exposed to vibration and repetitive motion such as bending, lifting, twisting, crouching, reaching, pushing and/or pulling. • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Ability to meet deadlines while performing tasks with completeness and accuracy Preferred Qualifications • HVAC knowledge • Building automation controls knowledge As a part of our team you will enjoy: Competitive Pay Medical (3 Plans to choose from) Dental FSA/HSA Vision Vacation 401K (Generous Match) 8 paid holidays Company Swag
