Job Title: HVAC Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC design and engineering, with experience in detailed load estimating, equipment selection, and system design. The role requires a keen understanding of building construction materials, indoor air quality requirements, and internal heat loads.

ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed load estimating using computer software simulation.Apply and select various types of HVAC equipment including air handling units, fans, coils, and condensing units.Design hydronic systems and steam/condensate systems including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated system accessories.Develop HVAC system controls, including temperature control diagrams and written sequences of operation.Create construction document packages in coordination with other disciplines (structural, architectural, electrical).Read and adhere to job-specific equipment and materials specifications, as well as national and local codes.Attend and communicate effectively during client meetings to understand job/owner requirements and expectations.Review project shop drawings and installation drawings.Conduct potential on-site inspections and troubleshooting.Essential SkillsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or practical working experience.4+ years of experience in the HVAC design field.Proficiency in HVAC design, including hydronic systems and steam/condensate systems.Experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.Ability to develop construction document packages and shop drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to perform CFD modeling.General knowledge of plumbing design, including sanitary sewer, vent piping, storm sewer piping, and domestic hot and cold water piping design.Experience with engineering and mechanical systems.Proficiency in reading and interpreting codes and specifications.Work Environment

This is an on-site position, requiring attendance 5 days a week from 8am-5pm. We offer holiday and paid time off (PTO) as part of the contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
