Job Title: HVAC Facilities Tech
Job Description

The HVAC Facilities Tech will be responsible for performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on various building infrastructures. This role involves a high level of technical expertise and the ability to handle repairs, protect, and beautify the interior and exterior surfaces of the building. The technician will also be involved in painting and carpentry work.

ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on interior and exterior surfaces.Involved in performing repairs, P.M. and install new piping and valves relating to building steam and water piping/plumbing systems.Analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.Understand engineering design and operational aspects of the building and critical support systems and components.Review logs to ensure proper operation of equipment and report any problems/malfunctions.Check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition.Install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, and rotating equipment.Support carpentry tasks such as installing doors, hardware, furniture, fabricating partition walls, crating, and other related work.Perform rigging/moving of equipment.Support the maintenance, repair, and operation of site rotating equipment including but not limited to HVAC equipment.Prepare, prime and paint repair building interior and exterior surfaces.Inspect various damaged surfaces for remodeling.Use various wall covering techniques and remedies to complete projects.Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, and controllers.Occasionally support the repair of plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps.Provide all other building maintenance, repair, and restorative procedures as directed.Perform general carpentry tasks to maintain buildings.Essential SkillsHigh School diploma or equivalent.Minimum 5-10 years of experience.Valid Driver’s license with a good record.Proficient in basic computer application software such as MS Office, Outlook, CMMS, etc.Able to operate required hand/power tools, test instrumentation, and equipment required by this trade in a safe and approved manner.Able to lift 50lb.Overhead work / working at heights required.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in controlled working environments, a plus.5-10 years of HVAC experience.Journeyman Preferred.BAS Niagara experience.Building maintenance, painting, facilities maintenance, maintenance, repair, service, maintenance technician, troubleshooting.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position includes a 2nd shift from 8pm-6am, Monday-Thursday, and a 3rd shift from 12pm-10am, Tuesday-Friday. The work involves handling various maintenance tasks, operating hand/power tools, and working in heights. Dress code is casual but must be suitable for a technical work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks Glencoe, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
