Job Description
The HVAC Mechanic will perform maintenance, installation, and repair work on HVAC systems, equipment, and components. Additionally, the role involves installations, repairs, and fabrication of sheet metal/metal components related to HVAC and other trades. This work is performed under general supervision using the tools and techniques of HVAC technology.
ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, installation, and repair work on HVAC systems, equipment, and components.Install, repair, and fabricate sheet metal/metal components related to HVAC and other trades.Apply HVAC theory, techniques, codes, and procedures.Follow safety rules, procedures, and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.Use tools and equipment safely and effectively, including precision measuring instruments, powered portable, bench, and hand tools, as well as non-powered hand tools.Solve problems and manage information effectively.Communicate proficiently in written and verbal English to interact with departmental staff.Identify and avoid hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights, and other warning devices.Perform work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry, or engineered standards.Essential SkillsKnowledge of HVAC theory, techniques, codes, procedures, and safety rules.Knowledge of sheet metal installation, repairs, and fabrication.Proficient in the use of HVAC and sheet metal tools and equipment.Ability to solve problems and manage information.Proficient written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to identify and avoid hazards.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma.Journeyman certification.Experience in commercial buildings.Why Work Here?

The work environment is a hospital shop, utilizing all types of tools and equipment normally used in the HVAC and sheet metal trades.

The pay range for this position is $34.64 - $37.32
