The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District is seeking a HVAC Manager to join our Team! Helps maintain and upgrade a program to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of plumbing, heating, cooling, controls, refrigeration, and ventilation systems, ensuring the comfort and safety of building occupants at their assigned buildings. Willing and able to follow safety guidelines and rules and willing and able to use recommended Personnel Protective Equipment (P.P.E.)

Duty Days: Full-time, 12 months / 260 duty daysPay and Benefits:$65,000/year- $85,000/year based on exprience and educationDuties:
+ Regulate and adjust low pressure boilers; changes filters.
+ Monitor and operate building HVAC systems for proper operation.
+ Check circuit panel and breakers; replaces light bulbs, electrical outlets and light switches if authorized to do so.
+ Maintain air handlers, rooftop units and other equipment necessary for the operation of the building.
+ Perform maintenance on toilets, sinks and drinking fountains and performs other plumbing repairs as needed.
+ Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
+ Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all district HVAC systems.
+ Monitor the performance of HVAC equipment, ensuring systems operate at maximum efficiency.
+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC system issues, including mechanical and electrical problems.
+ Ensure HVAC systems are in compliance with all relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and energy conservation standards.
+ Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
+ Maintain detailed records of service calls, equipment repairs, and preventive maintenance activities within the facility management program (Facility Manager Pro).
+ Assist with the procurement of necessary parts, equipment, and materials, ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of purchases.
+ Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements based on system age, condition, and performance.
+ Conduct safety inspections and maintain compliance with OSHA and district safety standards.
+ Stay updated on new HVAC technologies, regulations, and energy-saving initiatives.
+ Collaborate with school administrators, custodial staff, and contractors to ensure HVAC systems meet the needs of each facility.
+ Serve as the point of contact for emergency HVAC repairs and manage critical system failures.
+ Report regularly to the Director of Operations on the status of HVAC systems, ongoing projects, and future needs.
+ Assist with management of construction projects as assigned
+ Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing leaks, electrical failures).
+ Repair damaged locks, doors, windows, lockers, furniture, and machinery.
+ Fulfill requests to move furniture, supplies and other heavy objects as needed.
+ Perform routine security tours of the building and grounds to which assigned and reports unusual observations to supervisor.
+ Cover day lead custodian as needed or other positions as assigned.
+ Join and attend professional groups.
+ Other duties as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications:
+ 1-2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
+ Considerable experience working with HVAC systems and boilers, performing building maintenance work is required.
