HVAC Mechanic

**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for an **HVAC Mechanic** in our **Hughes** Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in **Germantown, MD.**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Assists workers engaged in installation, repair, and service of environmental control systems.
+ Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts.
+ Cuts, bends, fits, threads, and joins piping and tubing.
+ Installs air and water filters.
+ Adjust controls as necessary.
+ Connects, adjusts, and troubleshoots temperature control systems.
+ Lubricates fans, motors, and control units.
+ Other duties as required.

**Basic Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
+ 7 years of experience troubleshooting, servicing, repairing and/or replacing medium to large commercial HVAC (not residential) systems with minimal supervision.
+ 5 years’ experience at the Journeyman level.
+ Prior experience with a 24/7 critical facility.
+ Current Journeyman HVAC Licenses in any state
+ EPA Certification/CFC Licenses
+ Experience reading/following blueprints or engineering specifications.
**Essential Job Duties:**
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.
+ Ability to stand for 3 hrs. at a time _._ The ability to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders.
+ Ability to perform fine manipulation with fingers and hands.
+ Ability to sit for long periods or stand for long periods.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Knowledge of Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning systems Including chillers, cooling towers, Computer Room Air Conditioner Units (DX and Chilled water) RTU’s, (DX and chilled water) and Air Handling Units
+ Certified in stick welding (SMAW)
+ Ability to braze and solder all sizes of refrigerant piping
+ Good written and oral communication skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
+ Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
+ Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
