Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Level 2 HVAC Mechanic to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals! This position will be on site at our Palmdale, CA location.
Essential Functions:
Installs, services, modifies, rebuilds, and repairs air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment in an industrial or commercial establishment in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulationsPerforms periodic inspection to locate and determine cause of equipment malfunctionsConducts maintenance program to prevent failure of such equipment as, electrical controls/sensors, evaporative condensers, pumps, fans, and heating equipmentCharges air-conditioning systems with refrigerant; checks and tests for leaksSets and adjusts controls and regulatorsFabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork; overhauls equipment.Will service, modify, and maintain centralized HVAC computer systems and make program correctionsGeneral knowledge of building management systems including Distech, Honeywell, Johnson, and controls systems (DDC, AC and pneumatics)Ability to write and program a sequence of operations using both graphical and line logic programming methodsTypically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experienceUnder general supervision of the Controls Supervisor, performs maintenance, calibration, and installation on all plant and facilities EMS/BMS and related controls required to ensure proper operation of steam, water, gas, air, vacuum, cooling and heating systems, and other related building systems and equipmentUtilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program software to create process and complete planned and corrective maintenance work ordersPerforms scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration on machinery, equipment controls, and end devicesTroubleshoots programming loops and adjusts as necessaryMake recommendations for system fixes and upgrades and communicate effectively with site techs and managementUse site facilities dispatch system to communicate with site techs for assistance on issuesAbility to work 4/10 (4 days a week/10 hour a day) 1st ShiftBasic Qualifications for a Level 2 HVAC Mechanic:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of HVAC, Chillers, Cooling Tower, Plumbing and Mechanical SystemsMust possess a valid California State driver's license or must acquire a California driver’s license within 30 days from the time of hireMust Possess EPA 608 Universal License or HVAC CertificationMust be able to obtain and maintain a Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications:

Salary Range: $59,300.00 - $98,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
