HVAC Mechanic (Licensed)

The licensed HVAC Tech inspects, maintains, repairs, modifies, improves, and operates central heating, ventilating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems to insure proper functioning at all times.

Hours: 40 hours per week.

Monday-Friday Day shift 7am-3:30pm
Rotating weekends, Holidays and On-call shifts required

Work Locations: Lowell General Main & Saints Campuses

Must be able to travel between campuses

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Current HVAC/Refrigeration License.

3. Three (3) years of experience as an HVAC Technician.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Performs installation, preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

2. Responds to, evaluates, and rectifies problems with HVAC equipment and systems, pneumatic and digital controls, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, and other miscellaneous HVAC and refrigeration equipment

3. Follows work orders, drawings, diagrams, other specifications and/or verbal instructions.

4. Plan, install, inspect, test, and maintain/repair systems and/or equipment.

5. Check completed work to ensure system/equipment is properly functioning.

6. Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedule.

7. Responds to repair calls, analyzes problems and makes recommendation for and/or repairs.

8. Maintain necessary records and reports. Requisition necessary equipment and supplies. Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision

9. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.

10. Follow safety rules and regulations.

Physical Requirements:

1. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, climb ladders, carry supplies, moderate to strenuous.

2. Frequent exposure to dust, hot and cold temperatures.

3. Repeated bending, squatting, stooping.  Prolonged standing and walking.  May be exposed to hazards from use of electrical, electronic, mechanical equipment and power equipment..

Skills & Abilities:

1. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.

2. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

3. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.

4. Technical knowledge of mathematics and measurements.

5. Ability to read and write English.

6. Ability to solve complex problems.

7. Ability to operate hand and stationary power tools in a safe manner.

8. Ability to concentrate and comprehend details.
