HVAC/Plumbing Supervisor
**Job Title: HVAC/Plumbing Supervisor** **Job Description** We are looking for a HVAC/Plumbing Supervisor will plan, assign, and inspect the work of Technicians, Maintenance Mechanics and Plumbers who are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all HVAC and plumbing equipment installed in buildings on a large University Campus. This position is responsible for formulating and developing unit goals and objectives, providing technical assistance and training to assigned staff, and supervising the installation and maintenance of HVAC and plumbing components and systems. The role also involves making decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees, and ensuring budgeting guidelines are met. The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying problems early, be able to work overtime and respond to emergency calls. **Hard Skills** + Journeyman HVAC license + Shop supervisor + Facilities Maintenance **Soft Skills** + Ability to work efficiently with building automation systems + Anticipates and procures supplies and materials needed for daily operations + Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations + Ability to make decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees + Ability to review plans for future buildings and ensure compatibility with existing HVAC and plumbing codes and maintenance standards + Preparation of labor and material estimates + Evaluates and trains subordinate personnel + Preparation and maintenance of a variety of records and reports + Coordination of HVAC/Plumbing outages when required + Researches new operational methods, techniques and equipment + Manages moderately complex HVAC and plumbing installations and repairs performed by outside contractors + Assists in capital planning process to forecast long term HVAC system upgrades and/or replacements + Interprets university and department policies to assigned personnel and enforces safety regulations and adherence to proper codes and standards + Maintain a safe work environment for direct reports + Troubleshoots technical problems within HVAC and control systems + Assists with maintaining campus steam and chilled water metering systems + Adhere to rules set forth in the bargaining unit contract + Utilize the University’s time keeping systems to accurately complete time and attendance reporting for subordinates + Must be able to work overtime and respond to emergency calls **Job Type** This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in Baltimore, Maryland. **Work Environment** Facilities shop at the University **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
