HVAC/R Technician II

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the maintenance and/or repair of a variety of HVAC-R and specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7-Eleven (family of brands) stores within a geographic area. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7Help work orders to appropriate technician.  Position reports to the Area Facilities Manager. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store HVAC-R equipment which includes, but may not be limited to minor repairs of HVAC, minor repairs to refrigeration, cold beverage equipment (ex. tea, fountain, FBD, FCB, creamer Machine), fountain/backroom ice makersResponds to work orders related to plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance issuesResponsible for ordering and management of parts inventory for truckMinor repairs to equipment (such as hoses, nozzles, fuel filters, decals, HVAC filters, water filters, etc.) as neededProvide training for lesser experienced technicians as neededMay be responsible for training PM Techs on HVAC-related PMsResponsible for replacing ‘plug and play’ equipment as neededSchedules and prioritizes duties and work assignments on a daily basisCompletes required reports and paperwork daily to account for the time and use of parts and materialsObserves and inspects equipment to determine if servicing or further action is requiredKnowledge of HVAC installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenanceProficient use of hand and power tools applicable to jobKnowledge of refrigerant recovery and safe disposal of refrigerantAbility to perform preventative maintenance according to published guidelinesProficiently reads, understands, follows, and enforces safety procedureWorking knowledge of HVAC/associated system employing computer-based monitoring and control devicesKnowledge of mechanical or electrical equipment, plumbing, utilities, distribution systems, and controls, including maintenance and troubleshootingProficient repair/replacement of building mechanical systems components, including programmable logic controlsProficient analytical and problem-solving skillsAssigns work to (and oversees the work of) direct service providers in the HVAC tradeUnderstands and carries out oral and written instructionsEstablishes and maintains cooperative work relationshipsWorks independently and with minimal supervisionProficient at working safely and properly brazing refrigerant lines and componentsCompletes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by managementAvailable 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on an on-call emergency basis, in addition to a normal work schedule.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

EDUCATION: High School/GED

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years

YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: NA

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: EPA 608 Universal Certification required
