HVAC Service Technician
Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in residential, multi-family, and light industrial buildings. You will work closely with journeyman technicians to ensure all systems are operating efficiently and safely.

ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork.Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and provide effective solutions.Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure HVAC systems are operating efficiently.Replace or repair defective components, such as motors, thermostats, and compressors.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions about HVAC systems.Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and inventory management.Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.Assist journeyman technicians with delivery, installation, and troubleshooting heating and cooling equipment.Assist with power vacuuming of furnace systems, cleaning up job site, lifting/moving the units, etc.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with a focus on residential systems.Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and maintenance procedures.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and customer service skills.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.EPA certification is ideal.Comfortable bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting 100+ lbs as needed with team member.Additional Skills & Qualifications6+ months experience or familiarity with heating cooling installation, electrical, or construction skilled labor/mechanical aptitude.Knowledge of tools such as Impact Drill, Sawzaw, Wire Strippers, lighted level, the person and phillips flat screw driver, 8 oz hammer, drywall saw, ¼ malco bit, 4’’ bit adapter for impact drill, headlamp or flashlight, channel locks.Basic hand tools and the ability to purchase power tools as they progress in the role.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working in a team-oriented environment, with a busy schedule that may require on-call shifts every 6 weeks. Our work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with the potential for 60+ hours per week due to new projects. You will be paired with a journeyman and start your day either on the job site or at the shop address. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate t-shirt. We will provide work t-shirts.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ankeny, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
