Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Facilities Management HVAC Supervisor. Duties include:
+ Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC , and refrigeration equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
+ Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical control circuits.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
+ Use common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
+ Use knowledge and skill in Building Automation Systems ( BAS ) to complete tasks as needed.
+ Look up and order parts using Google Sheets and Drive.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Graduation from high school or equivalent and four years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC , and refrigeration equipment.
+ E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification
+ Ability to act as a lead technician and provide guidance to other technicians.
+ Proven track record in facilities preferred.
+ Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required.
+ Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
+ Computer literate.
+ Knowledge and skill with Google E-mail, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs.
+ Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds and cultures.
+ Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork. The selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
