Summary
The HVAC Technician serves as the expert resource for all HVAC functions. This position ensures HVAC systems are maintained in compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies. Maintains all required testing, maintenance and certification records for inspection as needed. Serves as the resource for construction to contractors, the Plant Manager, and the architects. Collaborates with other hospital departments to meet the needs of patients, visitors, and colleagues. Assists the affiliate's with compliance of the environment of care management plans.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training is required
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Systems, or HVAC Refrigeration is preferred.
Experience
Three years of facilities maintenance experience is required.
Five years hospital facilities maintenance is preferred.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of working areas of Mechanical Systems, specifically Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Systems and Mechanical Systems within the field of Maintenance/Plant Operations is desired.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Refrigerant Handling Technician certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Valid state driver’s license and must be insurable to operate hospital vehicles is preferred.
Plumbing License is preferred. ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Certificate is preferred.

Education
